The library will be celebrating its 120th Anniversary this Saturday Feb 28th from 12 Noon until 2pm. As you can see from the picture of our charter, that is the exact date on which we became incorporated as a library, making us one of the oldest in the Capital Region. Join us on Saturday, where we will debut a slideshow of snapshots from some 50 years of library memories, debut a new exhibit in our display case and so much more! Refreshments will be served and library lovers from near and far are most welcome. For more information please contact the library at 237-0891.

IMG_2094 Please join us in welcoming local artist Patrick Sherwood at an artist reception, Thursday Feb 5th beginning at 6pm. This event will give people an opportunity to speak with the artist and learn about his creative process. Refreshments will be served. Paintings will be available for sale. The artwork will be on display at the library until March 31st. For more information please contact the library at 237-0891.

christmasclosing The library will be adjusting its hours during the holiday weeks. But only slightly. We will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec 24-25), then reopen for regular weekend hours beginning on Friday Dec 26th at 9am. For New Years week, we will close early on Dec 31st, at 2pm, and remain closed on New Years Day. We then reopen again for regular weekend hours on Friday Jan 2nd, 2015. From all of us to you and yours, may it truly be a blessed Christmas season, wherever and with whomever you choose to celebrate. Our warmest thanks for your continued support of the library, and we look forward to having you help us celebrate 120 years of Waterford Library service in 2015!

Be-Red-Cross-Ready On Saturday Sept 27th, beginning at 10:30am, the library will host a workshop on how to prepare for natural and man-made disasters, as well as how to respond and recover from them. Representatives from the American Red Cross Preparedness Team will be on hand to provide information and tips on best practices for you and your family. The workshop is free and open to all. Please contact the library to register at 518-237-0891.
