The Waterford Historical Museum has two programs taking place this week, and we are encouraging all our patrons to take part! The first one takes place tomorrow Dec 3rd, and info about it is available here. The on Friday Dec 6, their annual Wine and Cheese Fundraiser will take place at the Museum. So support your local history museum, and enjoy a couple of terrific programs as well! And may we remind you that if you have not visited the Museum to view the 1913 Flood exhibit, please do so soon!

Beginning today (Monday Nov. 18) and continuing until the Waterford Rescue Squad picks up the box, the library will be accepting non-perishable food items in exchange for overdue library fines. For each item donated, we will waive a $1 in fines, up to a maximum of $10. This is only for overdue fines, lost item and other fees are not eligible for this program. So if you have been meaning to clear up some overdue library fines, here is a great way to do it and support your community at the same time! But don’t delay, when the box goes, the program is over!
The library is pleased to once again partner with the Waterford Rescue Squad and act as a drop off point for their Holiday Food Drive. And as an added incentive, beginning Monday November 18th, the library will waive $1 in fines for each non-perishable food item donated, up to a maximum of $10. So clear off some overdue fines on your library card AND help out a worthy cause that supports community members in need. The fine amnesty period will continue until the Rescue Squad comes to pick up their box! Thanks for supporting such a worthy cause, we appreciate it!
The Friends of the Waterford Library will be holding their final bake sale of the year this coming Sunday Oct. 13, during the Waterford Harbor Farmers Market. They will also have a raffle for a stuffed animal and some books for sale. All proceeds go to support their efforts at helping the Library. Speaking of the Library, we will be CLOSED on Monday Oct. 14th in observance of Columbus Day. No materials will be due. We reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday Oct. 15th.
