Book Talk Archive

Apparently we are not the only ones who are getting caught up in the Gatsby frenzy, that is building ahead of the release of the latest film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s literary classic. Thanks to our friends at the great Early Word blog, we learned that even faux conservative talk show hosts are creating book clubs! We have some extra copies on order, so stop in and read the book, before the movie comes out this coming weekend.

We had a few books left over after our recent renovation project, so we are offering them for sale. While we continue to offer a perpetual book sale in our lobby at the library, we are also holding a special sale off-site, on Saturday Sept 22 from 9am-3pm. This sale is in conjunction with the annual Waterford Village Wide Sell Out and will be held at 53 First St in the Village. For more information please contact the library at 237-0891.

And she wants to hear why you do too! I happen to be reading (and enjoying btw) the new Laura Lippman book, and came across an amusing clip from the Craig Ferguson show featuring Laura Lippman! Upon further investigation it was revealed that she is sponsoring a contest. She is soliciting essays about why YOU love your hometown library. The winning library will receive a visit from Laura! All the rules can be found on her website.  Contest closes on September 30th.
