TransAdk Route On Sunday Sept 14th (yes Sunday hours are back!) the library will host a multi-media program about the Trans Adirondack Route. Erik Schlimmer, founding member of Friends of the Trans-Adirondack Route, will be here to discuss the history of this cross Adirondack route and his group’s mission to maintain and promote its use. Erik is also the author of several books on hiking and the Adirondacks.  The program is free and begins at 2pm.

gone-girlThe library’s Book Club will meet for it’s monthly discussion session tomorrow morning at 10:30am. The featured title this month is the hugely popular domestic thriller, “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn. Soon to be a major motion picture, starring Ben Affleck, this book is sure to spur some lively discussion. So plan to join the group and find out what they are going to read next!

mistressdeath The next discussion group meeting of our Book Club will take place on Friday October 25th at 10:30am here at the library. The featured title this month is “The Mistress of the Art of Death” by Ariana Franklin.  We will also offer a second session on Thursday Nov. 7th at 6:30pm. All interested readers are welcome to attend. Suggestions for the next book to read will also be solicited.

bookclubsept13The library will debut its new book club on Wednesday Sept 25th at 10:30am, where we will be discussing the legal thriller “Defending Jacob” by William Landay. Copies of the book are available for reserve at the library or through the online catalog. We look forward to a good turnout and for a lively discussion!
