Once again we have several programs and activities planned in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program. Tomorrow, July 13th, we welcome gamers to try their skills at Buzz Jr. Wednesday July 14th will feature another Open Craft session, and Thursday July 15th will bring, Look, Listen & Touch! Most programs require advance registration and details can be found on our Calendar page.

If you are looking for an easy, free way to beat the heat wave, how about a movie? The library will be showing “A Shark’s Tale” on Thursday July 8th at 3pm. Popcorn & Juice will be served. Children 5 & up are welcome with parent or guardian. Large groups are requested to register by calling 237-0891. And don’t forget to check our calendar for more summer reading program activities!

Beginning Monday June 28th after 3pm, the library will once again welcome young readers to our Summer Reading Program. Sign-ups will take place either in the library or via the new online page. Check the Calendar page of the website for info on upcoming programs and activities. Paper copies of the calendar are available at the library.  The 2010 Waterford Library T-Ball Team
Last night, the Waterford Public Library T-Ball team visited the library to celebrate a lively and fun season. They enjoyed a quick story time followed by some popsicles before presenting the library with a handmade card and photo plaque from the team.
They have one more game this Saturday, June 12 @ 10:am at Garrett Field.

The library is pleased to once again be able to sponsor a Waterford Youth Baseball team this spring. We got a young squad this year, but we’re hearing good things about their progress on the diamond. And win or lose we look forward to welcoming them here to the library for a celebration of their season on June 11th. Next game is Tuesday May 25th!

We debut a revamped storytime schedule beginning tomorrow morning at 10: 30am. The first and third Fridays of the month will be devoted to toddlers, ages 18-36 months. No registration is required, so please help us spread the word!

Beginning in February, we will be offering new days and times for story-times here at the library. On the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, we will have a “lap-sit” program for parents and children 6-18 months of age. On the first and third Friday of the month we will have a toddler story-time for children ages 18-36 months. Both programs will begin at 10:30am and last about 30 minutes. No reservations are necessary and parents and children residing outside Waterford are also welcome. For more information please call Liz Liddington at the library.

Lots of fun pre-trick or treat activities for children will be taking place here at the library in the next few days. It all begins tomorrow evening at 6:30pm when we will be showing “The Scary Godmother” movie. On Friday Oct. 30th, dress in your Halloween costume and join us for story-time at 10am. Also on Friday, beginning at 3pm, we will be making SLIME! Finally on Halloween Day, from 12-3pm, come by for a Halloween Candle Craft program that’s sure to make trick or treating later extra special. All events are free. We are pleased to announce the return of a regular story-time at the library. It will take place on Fridays at the following times, 10am, Noon, 2pm and 4pm. Each session will last about 30-40 minutes. Sign-ups are NOT required, so last minute drop ins are encouraged! Liz, our youth services librarian, welcomes both parental participation and input. So plan to join us beginning this Friday for stories and more! Questions or suggestions should be directed to Liz, by calling 237-0891.
