Library Awarded State Construction Grant

The Board of Trustees and staff of the Waterford Public Library are pleased to share the news that we are once again a recipient of a New York State Library Construction Grant. This year’s grant will be used to continue the interior renovation of the adult services areas of the library. Work will begin in late summer and will include replacing the current shelving and furniture. We wish to thank the staff and board of the Southern Adirondack Library System, the Division of Library Development for the New York State Library and our project partner Butler Rowland Mays for their invaluable assistance with this grant process. May 14: Drop In Tech Assistance Available

We will be holding our monthly drop in Tech Assistance session this coming Monday May 14th, beginning at 6pm. If you are having difficulties with an e-reader, smartphone or laptop, we may be able to help. We can also show you how to download free e-books from the library! The next session will be held on Monday June 18th.

We hope to use our various Pin-Boards as a way to highlight new additions to our collection and to spotlight new services, programs and other whiz-bang stuff taking place here. Drop In Tech Assistance Tonight

Now that your taxes are done (they are, right?), it’s time to finally master that e-Reader, or smartphone or laptop or your email issues, that have been plaguing you all winter. Drop by this evening after 6pm and before 8pm, for some free assistance with any or all of those problems. No guarantees like those tax preparers offer, but we will do our best and did we mention its FREE!

National Library Week April 8-14th

Well it has happened again. The annual week to celebrate all that is great about your local library has arrived, and frankly we should be better prepared. And while we don’t have anything extra special planned, the simple truth of the matter is, we like to think that we celebrate what’s grand about libraries every week. We do so, by offering a wonderfully varied selection of materials for all ages in a variety of formats. We offer free access to technology as well as help you get more comfortable with your own. We are open 7 days and 2 evenings a week. And I might add we have a pretty darn cool looking building. So while we won’t be offering any extra special reasons to visit this week, we will also be here next week with probably a few new reasons to visit, and so on….

April 8th Library Closed for Easter Holiday

The library will be closed on Sunday April 8th, in observance of Easter Sunday. No library materials will be due that day. We will reopen for regular business hours on Monday April 9th.

March 26: Season Finale-Pillow Talk

We bring the second half of our Classic Movie Monday series to a close with this Oscar winning romantic comedy from the days of party lines. Starring two of the biggest stars of their generation, Doris Day & Rock Hudson! Showtime is 6pm and admission and refreshments are free. Seating is limited and on a first come first seated basis. Many thanks to Philip Casolo for helping curate this very popular series. We will resume again in the fall with a whole new list of classic films.
