Before your August calendar gets too full, we wanted to make sure you added two events sponsored by the Library. Leading off is the annual Concert under the Stars, which takes place this year on Friday August 10th at 7pm.  The concert happens down at the Waterford Welcome Center on the waterfront and features the jazzy sounds of Too Human. In case of rain the concert will be moved to the Waterford Civic Center. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library and Waterford Historical Museum volunteers. The concert is co-produced with the Museum and sponsored by the Village of Waterford.

Then on Friday August 17th, back by popular demand, it will be time once again for BBQ, Books and Blues.  More details to come soon, but one thing’s for sure, we won’t run out of food this time! So plan to join us for one or both of these events that are sure to enhance your enjoyment of the “Dog Days of Summer”!

Our community partners, the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center are holding their second First Friday event this Friday July 6th at the museum. Click here for all the details on their “Turning Heads” exhibit. Then join the fun by wearing your favorite hat to the opening!

Where can you get some real Texas BBQ, listen to some smokey blues guitar AND check out the latest bestsellers or DVDs? Why at the Waterford Library of course! Just plan to visit our Open House on Friday July 13th from 6-9pm. BBQ master Elden “Sausage Dog” Miller will be on the premises serving up rib plates and dinners for a modest price, while LB Walker gives us some of those “down home” Blues to help you unwind. Just add a great book, DVD or audiobook to the mix and you have a menu that’s sure to please! So plan to stop by and visit us and then let us know how we did by leaving us a comment here on the blog!

The library will be closed on Wednesday July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday. We will reopen Thursday at 9am for regular library hours. No materials will be due on Wednesday. Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!
