New On-Line Catalog Features Unveiled

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

The library’s online catalog underwent an upgrade over Columbus Day weekend. Although most of the changes will take place in the background, there is one new feature that we’re excited to introduce to our customers. When you click on the Search Catalog icon on our home page, you will be taken to the OPAC front page. In the upper right of the page look for the New Stuff link. You will be taken to a list of all new materials the library has added to our collection in the last 60 days. You can browse the entire list or by category. See something you like? Click on it to see if it’s on the shelf or make a request for it! The lists are updated regularly, so check back frequently to see what’s the latest and greatest at the library! If you are interested in a demonstration of all the features of the Polaris online catalog, please stop in and ask!

Waterford Heritage Day

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Despite a less than perfect weather forecast, we are looking forward to an entertaining and informative day on Saturday Oct. 13th, when the 5th Annual Waterford Heritage Day takes place here in the Village of Waterford. Events include a parade of antique Fire Engines, including numerous Button Fire Engines, through the Town and Village. Other events will take place down on the waterfront, including a water rescue demonstration and bucket brigade competition. Complete info on this event can be found here.

Sunday Hours

October Events

Friday, October 5th, 2007

Two upcoming events hosted and sponsored by the Waterford Library. On Thursday Oct. 11th at 6:30pm, the library welcomes canine film star Ginger from Saratoga Springs. Ginger is one of the stars of the movie Firehouse Dog . She and her owner Nan Sullivan will be talking about the movie and the importance of adopting animals from shelters.

The other event is the 5th Annual Waterford Heritage Day, which takes place this year on Saturday Oct. 13th. Anyone who is a fan of antique fire engines and parades should make plans to be there! All the details can be found here. Both events are part of Fire Prevention Week.
