Audiobooks & iPods

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

We recently had a patron ask about listening to audiobooks on her iPod.  My guess is that there may be a number of people who enjoy Audiobooks and their iPods and would like to make them work together. It’s quite possible to do so, but it takes a bit of work and possibly some software.  Here are some suggestions for both information and software that may make the process easier.  Patrons who have other suggestions are encouraged to leave comments.

LIVESTRONG Survivorship Notebooks

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Through a collaboration between the American Library Association and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the library has received two copies of the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Notebooks. The notebooks are “designed to organize and guide one’s cancer experience with information about cancer-related concerns, worksheets and stories from cancer survivors.” One notebook will be available to circulate and the other will remain in the reference collection.  Additional materials will be available via this collaboration later this year.

Storytimes

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Because we continue to experience a  decrease in attendance for our storytimes, we have scaled back the number of sessions offered. They currently  meet on alternating Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings. Tuesdays for preschoolers and Fridays for toddlers. Please check the web calendar for the dates and times each month.
